The Wisp (「尼びえ」?; Amabie) is a minor demon encountered in Ōkamiden.

The Wisp is encountered solely during the waterway that leads to the Sage Shrine. Unlike most demons, the Wisp does not actively attack, but merely travels on a set path and causes damage on contact. Wisps have a transparent blue body, with yellow cores in their body, arms, and head, and yellow stripes on their lower body.

Wisps are half human and half fish. Rather than maliciously seeking victims, they simply float undeviatingly on a course and get in the way of swimmers[1].

Bestiary entry

  1. These half-human, half-fish creatures float around in the ocean.
They never deviate from a course, and are obstacles for people trying to swim.

Wisps are very easy to defeat, as they only pose dangerous in the case of carelessness. Simply attacking them with a Divine Instrument or an offensive Celestial Brush technique will quickly kill them.

  • Wisps closely resemble sea angels, however, their Japanese name phonetically resembles "Amoeba".
