Description
Edit
The Wind Doom Mirror is first encountered at the miniature dungeon version of the Imperial Palace, in the Emperor's bedroom, just outside his mosquito net, and is encountered alongside a Thunder Doom Mirror. Other than the Imperial Palace, the Wind Doom Mirror is never encountered anywhere else, due to its diminutive size of a hand mirror, except for the Devil gate trial cave of North Ryoshima Coast. The Wind Doom Mirror, as said, is a seemingly ordinary round mirror the size of a palm with decorations of swirls on its rim, representing its element of wind. However, its most distinguishing feature is the face of an old man on its surface, instead of an usual reflection. The man is bald, and his eyes are closed, as if in deep thoughts or regret. This expression of his may hold some symbolism to it.
Background
Edit
The Wind Doom Mirror appears in the rooms of those who do not value time, and attack them. It has a strong grudge or depression against those people[1].
Bestiary entry
Edit
- ↑
"An old man's face appears on this gusty mirror.
It lingers in the rooms of those who do not value time and causes a ruckus.<br/Though most are driven by a strong grudge, some are simply depressed.
Once they have you in their sights, it isn't easy to take them down.
Pray to the heavens to slow time or there is no hope at all."
Strategy
Edit
The Wind Doom Mirror, like all other Doom Mirrors and Wheeled Destruction demons, is coated in an elemental shield. However, the Wind Doom Mirror, unlike other demons of the same categories, does not cease its defenses by itself. Only external influences can render it vulnerable. Use Veil of Mist to slow time and the mirror down and render it vulnerable, then farm it by using Golden Fury on it (save the Thief's Glove for later). When Veil of Mist ends, it will immediately start to spin and attack extremely quickly. Most of the times it will roll around to confuse Amaterasu before actually striking. Keep a sharp eye and timely execute a Sub-Reflector Counterattack when it comes to severely damage it, then use the Thief's Glove to finish it off (the hidden strike glitch is not necessary now, as the demon is already near death). Worry not about the unblockable coin spin attack of other Doom Mirrors and Wheeled Destruction demons, as the Wind Doom Mirror (and the Earth Nose) doesn't use that attack to strike Amaterasu. Use Veil of Mist as its Floral Finisher.
Trivia
Edit
- The Wind Doom Mirror has an old man's face and its manipulation of wind may be linked to its background.
- Apparently, the old man's face on it reminds time-wasters that if they continue to waste time, they will regret this wasteful use in the future, when they are wiser.
- The mirror controlling the element of wind also represents the unstopping flow of time, and it does not stop to wait for anything, especially time-wasters.
- The Wind Doom Mirror and the Earth Nose does not use the unblockable coin spin attack of other Doom Mirrors and Wheeled Destruction demons. Instead, they rely on their velocity and unpredictability to assault their opponents.
