There are numerous Dōjō techniques which can be learned from Onigiri-Sensei throughout Ōkami at his numerous dōjō located across Nippon. Except for Holy Eagle, none of the techniques are necessary to complete the game, however, they make it much easier.

After finishing the game, restarting with a New Game+ will allow Amaterasu to keep most of her techniques, if she had already obtained. The exceptions are Fleetfoot, Holy Eagle, Digging Champ, and Hardhead.

Learning Techniques

Each technique has a cost which must be paid before they can be learnt. Onigiri Sensei will read out the description of the technique, and give the technique scroll. Amaterasu can then test her technique on a dummy as Onigiri Sensei comments. After he's satisfied, he'll give her a Holy Bone M for some techniques. Also, some techniques are improvements on earlier techniques and cannot be learned until the previous technique is mastered.
